Tis the season....for a social gathering! This time we will be pairing up with Get Out Philadelphia for a pre-holiday get together at The Fox and Hound. The more the merrier right?

Fox and Hound is a popular sports bar located in center city Philadelphia. Happy Hour specials are from 5 - 7 (but I'll be staying later than that!) and include $2.75 drafts and domestic 23oz beers for $3.00! Fox and Hound also has a great bar menu for those of us that like to snack while we mingle!

Happy hours are a great way for new members to meet fellow hikers and learn about upcoming events. So come out and meet some new members or old members and get to know the folks at Get Out Philadelphia as well.

In the spirit of the season, we will also be taking up a collection to help some folks who are less fortunate than us. These men work as trekking guides in a remote section of the Himalayas and often do so without any lightweight warm clothing. To help them out, we are collecting USED items of outdoor clothing. We all have at least one piece of outdoor clothing that we no longer use or wear. Acceptable items should be lightweight and warm or waterproof. Examples are fleece jackets or pants, anything Gore-Tex or waterproof, long underwear, hiking socks, gloves, mittens, hats. If it is something you would wear while out hiking in the winter, I'm sure it will be perfect!
