Nockamixon State Park and Mt Haycock Exploration

This location is shown only to members

Lake Nockamixon and Haycock Mountain are well known to locals in Bucks County. But, I have only been there once!!!! And I got kind of lost.

So, this is a hike, but it may end up being a "oops, we're lost" hike. But that's ok. I have a map of the park and the adjacent gamelands, which includes the "mountain", and I'll bring my compass.

This is definitely not a hike for the inexperienced or for anyone who like pre-planned hikes. I've only been on the trail once, and like I said, got lost last time. So, let's call this an exploration of sorts. The trail is very rocky and if it is cold, it may be somewhat icy, so be prepared for that.

Let's meet here at 10 am. This is parking lot #13 near the disc golf and fishing pond.

Plan on being out for most of the day, bring sufficient water and snacks.

Ok, Paul's coming so we won't be getting as lost as I thought!

This hike is not appropriate for dogs. We may be off trail and there are some pretty big rocks to sort of scramble over.

Hi folks! Please read the about us page. I have a very firm "no guests" policy. I know that may be a pain, but everyone who hikes with us MUST be a member!

I had the best time today! Thanks to everyone for participating in this little adventure. Big thanks to Paul, Mike, Bill, and Kieu for helping to navigate and lead. Amy, it was so much fun hanging out with you again! And I really enjoyed meeting the "new" people. Hope to see you all again soon.
