Thunder Swamp, Spruce Run, 8 miles

This location is shown only to members

We are going to hike the Thunderswamp Trail section that is East of Rte 402. The trail is a bit rocky and may have some ice this time of year, but it is not a difficult trail. We will hike along the gentle ups and downs of Spruce Run, see a beaver dam and pass through a beautiful aspen forest before reaching the relatively flat, but rocky, section as we make our way to the terminus.

This is a shuttle hike, so we'll have to place cars at both ends. Everyone meet here at 10 am.

Dogs are welcome on this hike.

Bring water and snacks.

I'll ask for an (optional) $1 donation at the start of the hike to help offset website costs. (Will someone remind me if I forget to ask? Thanks!)

I will carpool with anyone approaching from the north, along I-81 and I-84.

Tom, the "Delaware State Forest" looks rather conspicuous here in Penna. - www.dcnr.state.pa.us/forestry/stateforests/delaware.aspx
