When it starts to get too hot for hiking, try a paddle trip!
First off, I would like to thank Christine for letting me post trips on her Keystone Hikers group. I have been leading hiking, backpacking and paddle trips with the Appalachian Mountain Club for over five years now and I would like to introduce fellow hikers to the pleasure of a paddle trip. The Mullica River is like a water trail through the forest. At most times the river is no wider than 1 to 2 canoe lengths. We will be passing by some of the most beautiful places in the pinelands. Along the way, the river passes through many environments including cedar swamps, savanna marshes, bogs and forest. There will be many sharp turns as the river continually twist its way through the forest. We will pass some sandy beaches where we will stop for breaks. On Saturday night we will camp at the Mullica River Wilderness Campground. At the campground there are pit toilets and there is water available. The campground is not accessible by motor vehicles.
This trip had been wait listed. But due to some last minute drop outs I now have a limited number of openings. While you can respond to this site to reply, you will need to register through email and get trip details outside of this web site.

(Actual group size limit is 34. I have 7 openings available to this Meetup group)
The cost for this trip is $50 per person ($100 per tandem canoe) and includes the canoe rental. If you are using your own boat, the cost is $15 per person. This cost is to cover camping and includes the group dinner and breakfast.
If you are coming alone, we will match you up with a paddling partner.
All participants will need to sign a liability release form for the DVAMC and Adams Canoe Rental if you are renting a canoe.
