Tuscarora Trail, Cowans Gap SP to Mountain Green Road, 12 miles

This location is shown only to members

Let's hike a section of the Tuscarora Trail!

We'll meet at Mountain Green Road at 9 am, leave a car or two, drive down to Cowan's Gap SP and hike! When we're finished, we'll drive back and pick up our cars.

I don't know much about this particular section, but I have hiked other sections of the Tuscarora and it is very pretty.

Since it is July, I would recommend bringing extra water and some bug spray!

Meet at Mountain Green Road Parking at 9 am. Click HERE.

Hope you can make it!

Hi Christine, I'm new to the club and look forward to the hike. Is anyone carpooling from the Harrisburg area?

Hi Cindy! I think Nick is also from your area. Maybe you could ride together? I will be staying in Mechanicsburg the night before, but I will be returning to Philly right after the hike, so I can't carpool.

    Hi Cindy,
I don't mind carpooling. It would make the drive more fun :) my # is 8056839 so that we can coordinate.

Great group! This hike was tough for me towards the end, but I had a great time. I do have sticker scratches EVERYWHERE!

It was a great hike, the most challenging for me were all the brambles/scratches and Bleeding!! I really enjoyed meeting/talking with everyone. Thanks for a great day!

It was a BLAST with GREAT group! I’ve NEVER been stuck by SO many brambles, eaten SO many sweet/ripe berries, or stepped over SO much bear scat in my life. (And I saw a lizard in, of all places, Pennsylvania.) The scratches on my legs will pleasantly remind me of this hike for WEEKS to come!
