Evansburg State Park is in southcentral Montgomery County between Norristown and Collegeville. Evansburg offers a significant area of green space and relative solitude in an urbanized area. Its main natural feature, the Skippack Creek, has dissected the land into ridges and valleys that create feelings of enclosures and provide scenic views.
This loop is made up of both hiking and horse trails and is roughly 4.5 miles long. It will be muddy in some areas and there are some downed trees across the trail. Some of the trail will be on a less traveled road for a short distance and we will cross 2 bridges.
We will be moving at a moderate pace with only one short break at the Kratz Road bridge which is roughly the half-way point. The hike should not take longer than 2 to hours and will begin at 9:15 a.m. promptly. This hike will take place rain or shine.
I will provide directions for those who need them. We will meet at the restroom area in the main park near the pavilion. Click Here for a map of the location. There is plenty of parking available and pets are welcome.
As usual, I will be asking for a $1 donation (optional) at the beginning of the hike. Everyone who wants to go on the hike must be a member of Keystone Hikers.
Hope you can make it, Tim.
Thanks For Holding This Meet-up. I Always Enjoy Them. The Chat Is Always Nice. So Far This Has Been My Favorite Hike I Went On.
