Cowans Gap to Big Mountain, 8 mile out and back

I know this is sort of last minute, but.....

I'm doing a 12-mile hike on Sunday and since I'll be up in the area (I live in Philly), I thought I would hike on Saturday, too.

This is an 8 mile out and back (4 miles up the mountain and then 4 miles back down) on a section of the Tuscarora Trail. We'll take a break at the Big Mountain vista. Bring plenty of water! This should take maybe 5 hours max.

Meet me at 10 am at Cowans Gap State Park. Park near the park office. I have a silver Forester. I'll send out my cell number to whomever signs up.
